Louis M. Hamer, M. D.  
Dr. Louis Hamer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1988. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia between 1988 and 1991. Prior to specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine, he gained valuable experience working as an emergency department physician for three and a half years in Philadelphia and the Greater Houston area.
In 1995, Dr. Louis Hamer accepted a position as a fellow at Dartmouth University and completed three addition years of post-graduate training, qualifying him as an expert in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Since January 1998, Dr. Louis Hamer has practiced pulmonary and critical care medicine in the state of Texas. He previously held an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in Medicine at the San Antonio Branch of the University of Texas through the Regional Academic Health Center in Harlingen, Texas. He served as Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas from 2003 until 2005.

He has published several articles related to lung disease and has extensive clinical experience treating thousands of patients with emphysema, chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, tuberculosis, pneumonia, pulmonary emboli, cystic fibrosis, respiratory failure, interstitial lung disease, and other breathing problems. He currently sees patients in Pasadena, Texas, Channelview, Texas and Clear Lake, Texas.
